Biography
Marc started working summer, when he was a young teenager, in the hydraulic jack repair shop started by his Dad in 1948. Duties included cleaning and painting the repaired tools, sweeping the floors and taking out the trash. This was in the 1970’s. In 1985, after completing college with degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Finance, Marc joined the company, initially handling administrative and ERP needs. By the early 1990’s Marc changed the company’s direction, and we entered the distribution business as tool manufacturer’s loosened rules that barred Authorized Repairs shops from both selling and repairing. Beerman has 3 locations today, 2 in south Louisiana and one in Birmingham, Alabama.
Marc is proud to brag that he and Angela have been married for over 35 years, and they share two children and one grandchild. Marc considers working both a vocation and an avocation, yet he is also very involved with the Non-Profit that started as an orphanage for Women and Children in 1852 and now assists families who have children in dire need of different forms of help. Marc’s father and 5 of his siblings were orphans at this organization in the mid 1920’s after their mother died.
Marc served on Evergreen’s board in 2012 and was Treasurer during his term. He is proud that he served as STAFDA President in 2000, the same year Georgia Foley became Executive Director.
